About this Competition

Eligibility:

  • Open to Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) students
  • A valid college ID is mandatory on the event day


Drone Specifications:

Weight:

  • Maximum Weight: 2.5 kg (including battery)


Connectivity:

  • Only wireless-controlled drones are permitted


Important:

  • Drones must be custom-built
  • Commercial or professional drones (e.g., DJI) are strictly prohibited
  • Teams must carry extra batteries
  • FPV drones and FPV goggles are not allowed
  • There is no restriction on controllers
  • Teams must maintain fair play and sportsmanship throughout the competition


Team:

  • Maximum 4 members per team
  • Only 1 pilot and 1 assistant (co-pilot) are allowed inside the arena at any time
  • No other team member may touch the drone during a run


Format:

  • Qualifiers: Time-based trial runs
  • Knockout Rounds: Best-time elimination format
  • Semifinals: Extended obstacle navigation


Gameplay:

Scoring Criteria:

  • Fastest course or lap completion time
  • Successful clearance of obstacles
  • Accuracy while passing through gates and checkpoints
  • Smooth and controlled flying with minimal penalties


Penalties:

  • Missing or skipping any obstacle will result in a +2 seconds time penalty added to the final run time
  • Early take-off before the countdown ends will result in a time penalty
  • Unsafe flying, intentional contact with obstacles, or rule violations may lead to additional penalties or disqualification


Rules:

Pre-Flight Inspection:

  • Structural integrity and wiring inspection
  • Battery health and secure mounting check
  • Propeller condition and safety verification
  • Fail-safe system verification


Repair Time:

  • 1 minute repair time allowed without penalty
  • An additional 1 minute allowed with a time penalty
  • If the drone remains unsafe after repairs, it will be disqualified
