SPPU Engineers values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and what choices you have when you use our website and web application.

1. Introduction
SPPU Engineers (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the SPPU Engineers platform at sppuengineers.in and related services for engineering students.
This policy applies when you sign in with Google, verify your mobile number, complete onboarding, purchase study products, use the in-app study viewer, browse events and opportunities, contact support, or otherwise interact with the Platform.
By using SPPU Engineers, you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to operate the Platform, deliver purchased access, keep accounts secure, and improve our services.
- Account data from Google Sign-In: name, email address, profile photo, and Google account identifier.
- Mobile verification data: Indian mobile number, OTP verification status, and verification timestamps.
- Profile and onboarding data: college, branch, academic year, semester, and preferences you submit during onboarding or profile updates.
- Purchase and enrollment data: order IDs, product type, branch, pattern, semester, payment status, amounts, coupons used, and access validity / expiry dates.
- Payment metadata: transaction references from Cashfree Payments. We do not store full card, UPI PIN, or net-banking credentials.
- Device and session data: device identifier, browser, platform, login time, last activity, and active session records used to secure your account.
- Study viewer and access logs: account-linked access to protected materials, including data needed for licensing, watermarking, fraud prevention, and abuse detection.
- Communications: messages you send via contact forms, support email, feedback, or query replies.
- Newsletter and marketing preferences: whether you opted in to email updates during onboarding or later from your dashboard.
- Usage and analytics data: pages visited, feature usage, search interactions, referral or campaign parameters, and aggregated performance metrics.
- Technical data: IP address (which may be stored in hashed form for security logs), browser type, device information, and cookies or similar technologies.
- Optional profile fields: CGPA, website, or other details you choose to add in your dashboard.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for legitimate platform purposes, including:
- Creating and maintaining your account and profile.
- Verifying your identity through Google Sign-In and mobile OTP.
- Processing purchases, activating enrollments, and showing your study access.
- Delivering protected study materials through the in-app viewer and applying account-linked watermarks where applicable.
- Sending transactional emails (welcome, payment confirmation, access updates, support replies).
- Sending newsletter or promotional emails only if you have opted in.
- Monitoring sessions, detecting suspicious logins, preventing account sharing, piracy, and fraud.
- Responding to support requests, feedback, and contact queries.
- Improving content, features, performance, and user experience through analytics.
- Complying with legal obligations, enforcing our Terms, and protecting our rights and users.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with access controls appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.
We use Firebase (Google Cloud) for authentication, database, and related backend services. Payments are processed by Cashfree. Transactional email may be sent through Zoho ZeptoMail or similar providers.
We apply technical and organisational measures such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), restricted admin access, authentication checks, session monitoring, and server-side validation for purchases and enrollments.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your Google account, OTP, and device access secure. Log out of shared or public devices when possible.
6. Watermarking and Licensed Content
To protect licensed study materials, we may display visible or invisible watermarks in the study viewer. These may include account-linked identifiers such as your registered email, name, or phone number.
This processing is used to enforce licensing, deter unauthorised sharing, and investigate misuse. See our Terms & Conditions for usage restrictions.
8. External Links and Third-Party Opportunities
The Platform may link to external websites, event pages, internship forms, scholarship applications, Google Drive folders, or social channels operated by third parties.
SPPU Engineers is not responsible for the privacy practices, data collection, or security of third-party sites. Review their privacy policies before submitting personal information.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required by law.
- Account and profile data is kept while your account is active.
- Purchase, payment, and enrollment records may be retained for accounting, tax, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
- Security and access logs may be retained for fraud prevention and incident investigation.
- Newsletter preferences are kept until you opt out or delete your account.
- Some data may remain in backups for a limited period before deletion.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on applicable law (including India’s digital privacy framework), you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate profile information from your dashboard or by contacting support.
- Opt out of non-essential marketing emails via your dashboard preference or unsubscribe links.
- Request deletion of your account or personal data, subject to verification and legal retention requirements.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting prior lawful processing.

We may retain certain data where required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, unresolved disputes, or enforcement of our Terms.
11. Children’s Privacy
The Platform is intended primarily for college and university students. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 years of age without appropriate consent.
If you believe a minor has provided personal data without consent, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to review and delete it where required.
12. Payment Information
All payments are processed through Cashfree Payments or another approved gateway on our official domain. We do not collect or store your full payment card or UPI credentials.
Only make payments through legitimate SPPU Engineers checkout pages. We are not responsible for fraud or data misuse on unofficial or third-party payment pages.
13. Account Deletion and Data Requests
You may request account deletion or data access by emailing support@sppuengineers.in from your registered email address.
After verification, we will delete or anonymise personal data where possible. Some records (such as payment history) may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
14. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when we add features, change services, integrate new providers, or meet new legal requirements.
The “Last updated” date at the top shows when the latest version was posted at sppuengineers.in/legal/privacy-policy/. Continued use after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
